dESIGN

I’ve always been fascinated by drawings. My first ever paid gig, at 10 years old, was to draw cartoon characters for my school friends who would pay me R$1 (about 15 pence) for drawings of their favorite characters. I’d dream about one day becoming an illustrator. At high school I enrolled in the advertising school, which sparked my interest in graphic design and branding.

Growing up in a fast paced metropolis such as São Paulo provided an incredibly diverse sphere of visual references. I was particularly influenced by the underground scene, music, fashion, skate-surf culture and the colorful graffiti that covered the grey walls of the great concrete jungle. I became passionate about the symbology behind these expressions. The observation of these symbols and its representation is what allows me to understand and translate a concept into a graphic design.
